Touma is a smart kid - it's one of the first things anyone notices about him, really; he's freaking gifted. He has an IQ of 250, and he isn't afraid to demonstrate that in the least. He isn't conceited about it, but he does have his pride, and his brain is one of the things he considers most important about himself. He has a very quick wit, and picks up on things very quickly; he's also very book-learned and well-read. His primary interests are science (specifically physics), astronomy, and history (specifically Japanese history).

However, the downside to this is his general, all-around lack of common sense and social immaturity. He's the kind of person who forgets they're cooking something and ends up setting the kitchen on fire, who can recite theoretical physics ideas but forgets that it's "go" on green and "stop" on red. It's not so much that he's careless but that he doesn't pay a lot of attention to those things. He also has little to no social skills - he hasn't dealt with people in the past, and the only ones he has really been around have been the other Troopers, who generally gloss over his oddities (or else tease him mercilessly about them). He tends to have little regard for others, as well - for instance, he has his own schedule and is very unwilling to change it, and sometimes he'll take it for granted that his friends are willing to help him out, like the time he crashed at Shin's apartment in Tokyo with only about fifteen minutes of warning that he was coming at all.

Basically, for Touma, if it doesn't have anything to do with his friends or his parents, he doesn't really care about what people think of him, and he won't change to suit them.

Touma can be a little bit cynical, a combination of his intelligence and his experiences making his view of the world a little dark. He's got a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, too, though he can be a little silly - the kind of guy who tells jokes about physics without realizing that no one in the room understands what he's talking about. He also has a wicked streak, and pranks aren't exactly beyond the imagination, though he sometimes takes them too far.

He's prone to over-analyzing things, especially feelings if he doesn't understand them (which happens more often than he'd like to admit). Situations, books, people... he'll logic them right into the ground if given half a chance!

Some quirks about Touma (most of these are fan-made, since the series is less than rife with character details): He practices both Western and Japanese-style archery, and his hobbies include Chinese and Japanese-style chess, puzzles, reading, computer and video games, jogging, and swimming. He also likes baseball, though he doesn't play. He loves sweets, and has a slight addiction to Hi-Chew. His favorite food is takoyaki, and he doesn't like raw meat in his food. He speaks, reads, and writes English fluently, but speaks Japanese with a Kansai dialect.

Fine print: I don't own Touma, or Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. I own my interpretation of him and my writings for him, however. Don't steal!
